Career Changes, Progressions & Living My Dream
Do you ever get to the end of a week and go “Wow what a week! How did I even get here?“
Well, it has definitely been one of those weeks for me! Nothing went to plan, nothing ran smoothly, everything felt disjointed.
I was unexpectedly in a different location for the week and was hitting exhaustion by lunch time each day despite sleeping well at night. The same feeling seemed to be echoed by my teams week, with jobs being left un-finished, fatigue setting in and overwhelmed clients / families struggling to find a routine and sense of normality in their life.
There was however growth, new strategies put in place, a sense of new beginnings.
This week was a reminder that not all weeks flow in the same way as others, but each does contain growth and change.
I spent my Sunday in the wineries of Mudgee. I watched my very talented friend Anna Wetherup sing at vineyard, whilst drinking wine with friends. I needed this downtime to prepare for a personal change in my life. I am now making the move to a new town, to live with my partner and start the next chapter of our live together. It’s mean’t closing some other chapters but the excitement of beginning a life together far outweighs what I will be letting go of.
I am a strong believer that whatever is happening within your personal life, is mimicked in your professional life.
I’m also trying to tackle things head on and not avoid anything that comes to light -so that all areas of my life can operate at its best.
After recently opening Explore and Soar’s second location in the Upper Blue Mountains region (at the beginning of February), we are now opening the doors to a third location - in my new home town Tamworth. Which coincides with commencing a recruitment strategy for the next 3 to 6 months being put in place as well. I saw thew lack of support and resources in the Tamworth community, I was asked if I would provide support and I thought… why not? my personal life has led me to here, my professional life should go hand in hand with it.
But that’s not all, even more excitingly, for the last 2 years ‘Essence of Expression‘ has been developing behind the scenes. I have been working on ways in which to help you define your passions and live your life authentically.
In March, 2022 I am excited to finally announce and launch the 1st of 4 community workshops to support you in staying true to yourself and sharing your life freely. Your ‘Essence of Expression’.
The first workshop and online workbook that will be available this month is ‘Social Essence’. It is a great one to start with as we are all socially re-connecting with our family, friends, colleagues and re-emerging into our communities after covid restrictions in the last two years.
I cannot wait to share it all with you! To me, this is a part of my story and how far I have come personally, whilst also taking an occupational therapists perspective on how I too have achieved this. The workshops will make use of my clinical and personal knowledge to help you be the best you can be and to live the life you were born to live.
I can’t wait to work with you to share your essence with the world!
